Media News Releases

Has your organisation hoped for TV coverage when it made a significant announcement at a news conference….and then found that TV news desks had sent their crews elsewhere to what were deemed to be bigger news stories?

The solution next time could be your own piece of media, rushed to the newsroom on DVD (or sent by advanced broadband) a short while after the event finishes.

Andrew Blow is a former broadcast TV journalist and can work at speed. He can write short scripts for TV news desks and has done so many times. He can interview important participants.

The resulting copy, video shots and interview clips can enable the broadcaster to create a piece as if their own staff attended. (Obviously, the story must be of public interest and not an overt commercial!)

Both BBC and ITV often split their Regional programmes into sub regional bulletins offered on sub regional transmitters. They are often glad of extra material particularly if its produced to a professional standard.

Afterwards, the media — and a copy of the TV output — can be be used on disk and/or Internet to explain what went on to stakeholders who couldn’t be present on the day.
