Operation Harvest Video

This programme, which contains fascinating wartime footage of rural England, tells the story of the huge contribution made by Britain's farmers to feed Britain and her servicemen and women in World War II.

The films came from the collection of Richard Watts of the British Agricultural Film Archive. Suitably, the narration comes from Ian Lavender, the actor famous for his role as Private Pike in the BBC comedy classic " Dad's Army".
